Hiring a live watercolor artist adds a touch of poetry and sophistication to any celebration — whether it’s a wedding, corporate event, or private soirée. If you’ve ever wondered how the process works, here’s a simple step-by-step guide to help you understand what to expect when you book me for your event.
1. Book in advance
It’s best to secure your date a few months ahead—especially during busy seasons like summer or Christmas. These periods fill up quickly, so early booking ensures I can reserve your event and prepare any custom details in advance.
2. Guest count and timing
Even though live watercolor illustration looks calm and effortless, it’s always very popular once guests see the results! Typically, I can paint about 8 individual or 4 couple portraits per hour. For a 6-hour event, that’s around 50 guests who can be illustrated. If, during the event, you wish to extend my presence, additional hours can be added on site.
If you expect more attendees, I offer additional portraits which I can paint from reference photos after the event at an affordable rate. For larger events, I can also invite other professional artist friends to join me, ensuring everyone receives their personalized keepsake.
3. Setup requirements
All I need is a comfortable workspace: a table, a chair, and if the event is outdoors—an umbrella or shaded area. Ideally, my station should be set away from loudspeakers, so I can focus and guests can enjoy a calm, elegant atmosphere while being painted.
4. Travel availability
I am available for events across Europe. Travel and accommodation can be arranged with your assistance, or I can organize them myself depending on your preference.
5. Deposit and booking confirmation
In order to secure your date, a 30% advance deposit is required to confirm the booking for all new clients. The remaining balance can be settled after the event.
6. Personalized details
If you would like to include your wedding monogram, event logo, date, or a custom pre-painted illustration (like a venue sketch or floral detail), I can print these directly onto the watercolor paper before the event. This adds an elegant branded touch to every portrait.
7. Duration & flexibility
My minimum booking time is 3 hours for corporate events and 4 hours for weddings — this allows me to create a sufficient number of illustrations for your guests.
Shorter durations are usually not recommended, as they may not allow enough time for everyone to be painted and could leave some guests disappointed.
So if you’d like to add a touch of watercolor magic to your next event — I’d be delighted to discuss your ideas and create a personalized artistic experience. Each event is unique, and my goal is always to make yours unforgettable — with elegant, hand-painted memories your guests will treasure for years to come.
